The "circle of friends" continues to expand.
On March 7, 2019, a China-Europe train loaded with circuit board assembly modules, photovoltaic grid-connected inverters and other goods traveled from Hefei, China to Duisburg, an important industrial city in Ruhr, western Germany. This is another China-Europe train route from Hefei to Germany after Hamburg. It is worth noting that Duisburg is an important node with the largest number of trains, the largest traffic volume and the highest value of goods in China and Europe. In 2014, there were only three trains per week in Duisburg, and in 2019 it has reached 30 trains per week.
This year, the "circle of friends" of China-Europe trains has been expanding, and routes from Yantai to Moscow, Russia, and Yiwu to Liege, Belgium have been added in the eastern region, which is constantly writing a new chapter of high-quality development. It is particularly worth mentioning that the route from Yiwu to Liege has created a new pattern of standardized and sunny transportation of cross-border e-commerce parcels in China and Europe.
In China, the starting points of the North-South Silk Road are Chengdu and Xi ‘an, Xi ‘an to Ankara, Turkey to Prague, and Chengdu to Luxembourg, and other China-Europe trains have been opened frequently. Among them, the opening of the Xi ‘an-Ankara-Prague line marks the first time that the southern passage of the western line of China-Europe Banlie has been fully connected, bringing more choices for logistics and transportation between China and Europe.
In the northern "ice city" Harbin, the newly-added route from Maerki to Suifenhe to Harbin marks the initial formation of a T-shaped international logistics network with Harbin as the center and connecting Europe and Northeast Asia through Suifenhe, Manzhouli and Dalian.
In the resource-rich land of Sanjin, Datong to Minsk, Belarus, Taiyuan to Moscow, Russia and other lines have been opened one after another. Among them, the opening of Datong-Minsk line has attracted much attention, and the steel structure loaded by the first train is used in the largest investment cooperation project between China and Belarus — — Construction of China-Belarus Industrial Park.

Increased variety of goods
From January to November, China-Europe trains transported a total of 656,000 TEUs, up 38% year-on-year, with a heavy container rate of 93.9%.There are more and more categories of goods for return and departure. The goods on the China-Europe train include clothing, food, household appliances and other daily necessities, as well as high value-added goods such as IT products and auto parts.
This year, China-Europe trains have more categories of return goods. Russian wood, German kitchenware, Belarusian meat products, Dutch milk powder and many other imported goods are constantly appearing in China, providing more choices for domestic consumers.
This year, more "Made in China" and "Taste of China" were exported to all parts of the world on the China-Europe train. Skyworth TV, glass curtain wall, Shaanxi concentrated apple juice, Xinjiang tomato sauce, Hungary (Hungary) Cyprus (Serbia) railway construction materials, etc., took the China-Europe train to go abroad.
Happily, in 2019, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau also welcomed the Central European train for the first time. On December 13th, a China-Europe train carrying 60 containers of timber successfully arrived at Shuangzhai Station on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau. This was the first time that Qinghai Province welcomed a whole imported China-Europe train, which opened up a major logistics channel from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau to Russian cities.
Take multiple measures at the same time
Improve customs clearance efficiency
The improvement of customs clearance efficiency has become a "shining event" for China-Europe trains in 2019. The railway and customs departments work closely together to optimize the operation process and promote the facilitation of customs clearance measures, so that the goods transported by China-Europe trains can reach customers faster.
China Railway Urumqi Bureau Group Co., Ltd. coordinated the customs, state inspection and other departments to build a green customs clearance channel, fully implemented the train organization mode of customs declaration and inspection at the departure station and direct release at the port station, and reduced the customs clearance time at the port from the original 12 hours to less than 6 hours; China Railway Chengdu Bureau Group Co., Ltd. coordinated the customs to optimize the supervision link, and adopted the automatic association of optical recognition license plate and container number to replace the paper check and release procedures, and the overall transit time of vehicles entering and leaving the area was reduced from the original 30 minutes and 15 minutes to 3 seconds.

With the large-scale development of China-Europe trains and the improvement of transportation organization mode, the transportation time of China-Europe trains is getting shorter and shorter, and the logistics cost is greatly reduced. With one-third of the shipping time and one-fifth of the air freight price, CEIBS has continuously highlighted the comparative advantages of international logistics services and won the favor of the people along the "Belt and Road".
In the new year, the "Iron Camel Team" will continue to gallop on the Silk Road, so that the world can share the development dividend.
