The poisoning treatment center of Peking University Third Hospital was established.

On the afternoon of August 26th, the establishment ceremony and academic seminar of the poisoning treatment center of Peking University Third Hospital was held in the conference room on the third floor of the administrative office building.

At the ceremony, President Qiao Jie first expressed his gratitude to the industry experts who came to the scene and supported the poisoning treatment work of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University for a long time. She pointed out that the poisoning incident seriously endangered people’s physical and mental health and life safety. The hospital made overall arrangements to set up a poisoning treatment center under the leadership of the Occupational Diseases Department, focused on discipline construction and multidisciplinary coordinated development, and explored the poisoning treatment mode of the Third Hospital of Beijing Medical University as a starting point to improve the hospital’s poisoning treatment capacity, thus solidly promoting the pace of the construction of treatment centers with important clinical characteristics, and contributing to the construction of a healthy China while further improving the overall medical service capacity of the hospital.

Yu Tao, deputy director of the Quality Control Office of the Medical Department, Ma Qingbian, director of the emergency department, and Cui Liyan, director of the clinical laboratory, reported on the preparation of the hospital poisoning treatment center.

Subsequently, the relevant persons in charge of the Medical Department, the Emergency Department and the Clinical Laboratory respectively reported on the preparation process of the center. At present, the hospital poisoning treatment center adopts the working mode of multidisciplinary cooperation and sequential treatment, and has the ability to transport and treat patients in batches, and has high-end treatment technologies such as target temperature management of poisoning first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, bedside bronchoscopy, hemofiltration, perfusion, plasma exchange, etc. It has the ability to analyze 31 poisons in 5 categories, including pesticides, drug metabolites identification, chemical poisons and heavy metal poisons. An integrated and sequential poisoning treatment platform has been initially established, which includes first aid, poison detection, treatment of severe patients, review and rehabilitation of poisoned patients.

Sun Chengwen, deputy director of the PLA Poisoning Treatment Center and director of the Poisoning Laboratory of the Fifth Medical Center of the PLA General Hospital, gave a report at the academic seminar.

At the academic seminar, researcher Sun Chengye and director Sun Chengwen gave academic reports on the characteristics of poisoning events, clinical treatment and diagnosis ability and the achievements of poisoning prevention and control in recent years with the themes of "Problems in Epidemiological Research and Response of Poisoning in China" and "Clinical Poison Detection and Case Analysis" respectively, and the participants had a heated discussion.

The establishment of the poisoning treatment center of Peking University Third Hospital marks a new step in the hospital poisoning treatment system. The next step will be to focus on discipline construction, strengthen discipline cooperation, further improve the quality and efficiency of treatment of poisoning patients, enhance the emergency handling ability of public health emergencies, and provide strong support for the construction of hospital clinical characteristic treatment centers.
